I think what we’re also seeing, thanks in part to social media, is a rise in validation-seeking and fantasy relationships with unavailable people and an increasing dissatisfaction with long term monogamy. People don’t tolerate boredom when a new hottie is a DM away. People need to understand that as a society we’re more addicted than ever, and not just to drugs and alcohol.
