Thank you for the response Hannah. It’s all very complex and I think attachment is a big factor. I also believe that our belief system about ourselves, other people, and relationships in general also play a big role. The more I think about it, the more I think we’ve become addicted to puzzle solving, because that’s what we did with our parents. To put down the puzzle and accept a new role feels very foreign.
