How can you deal with it? You can start by building a trusted network of friends who can hold you accountable to the behaviors you want to change. Work though the uncomfortable feelings that come up and write out the thoughts and beliefs you have about yourself. Get out of denial, fantasy, and distorted thinking. See you and her realistically — stop the pedestalization.

Make journaling and meditating a daily activity and find a spiritual practice. These are all suggestions and there’s no one-size-fits-all formula, however I’ve seen these work for many people.
