This is good. Much better than simply asking the Sr. engineer, "Hey, I can't figure this out; can you help me?" I used to do that and it always pissed them off because it seemed like I didn't even try. In reality, I spent a lot of time researching before asking a question. It also saves time by eliminating what you've tried.
