Thought-provoking piece but over-simplified. I’ve known women who absolutely enjoy casual sex, whether single or practicing ENM, and with men and women. I don’t think men have that much influence on whether women have casual sex either, especially with this last wave of feminism.

I agree that women and men are wired differently, view sex differently, and get turned on in different ways, but I’ve been women’s casual flings and booty calls many times.

If I’ve learned anything about women, it’s that they desire different men at different stages of life and at different times of the month. Inherently, I don’t even believe that humans are sexually monogamous but pair bond when it comes to raising children — whether or not those kids are from the man she’s with.
